You Want A Boot Camp Abs Workout? You Got An Abs Workout!


How the heck are ya?!

Wow, I started this puppy with two exclamation points.   I guess that’s what happens when you listen to some peppy music while you write – I highly recommend it, although the downside is inserting random lyrics Maria, Maria She fell in love in East LA…see you get to listening to Santana and those things start to happen.

Okay, what was I saying?  Oh yea! Abs!

We all love to work the abs.  We all love to feel ‘em worked and burn a little, so that’s what I’m going to give you today.

Actually your abs may not “burn” but that’s not always the best gauge to judge an “Abs Workout” because the abs need to be worked in multiple ways in order to really hit ‘em.

I know some folks out there say the abs are like every other muscle group and should be worked as such, but I don’t always fall under that umbrella.  Your abs aren’t really like all your other muscle groups because they have so many different functions and the primary function is stability and keeping you upright lest you de-evolve back into a monkey or sway in the breeze like a pretty flower.

So when I design an abs workout for boot camp, I try to come at it from different angles by inserting stability exercises, strengthening exercises, burning exercises and devilish exercises – and some are a combination of all of those!

Okay, enough with the back story, let’s get on with the workout!

Hold on, let’s back up before I give you the workout because FIRST I want to share with you one of my FAVORITE tummy exercises.  I absolutely love this exercise, as I’m sure many of you know.

First up is the Boot Camp Abs Exercise:

Here’s the exercises/reps for the tight tummy workout in the above video:

1) 1-Arm DB Swing – 15 Reps per arm

2) Reverse Crunch – 12 Reps

3) Side Plank Extension – 12 Reps per side

4) Plank Thrust – 12 Reps

Hope having the exercises listed in order helps you out a bit more!
